  • Bills Parcells Delivers Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Speech (VIDEO)

    Former NY Giants coach, Bill Parcells, was recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and honored at the 2013 Enshrinement Ceremony that was held on Aug. 3, 2013 at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio. The award was presented by former defensive end, George Martin, who played his entire career with the New York Giants.

  • Eagles QB Donovan McNabb Officially Retires

    PHILADELPHIA, PA. — Philadelphia Eagles QB, Donovan McNabb, ended his NFL career with an apology. McNabb, 36, made his retirement official in a press conference Monday morning, July 29, as he appeared with his teammates at the Novacare Complex in South Philadelphia. In an emotional speech, the future Hall of Famer thanked his team, long time coach Andy Reid (who is now with the KC Chiefs), his fans and his family.

  • Falcons QB Matt Ryan Signs Deal Worth $103.75 Million (VIDEO)

    Atlanta Falcon’s quarterback, Matt Ryan, met with the media after Thursday’s practice, along with owner and chairman Arthur Blank, general manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Mike Smith, to discuss his new five-year extension with the Falcons worth $103.75 million, which over the long course of the agreement is $20.75 million per year, making the deal second among quarterbacks in new money only behind Aaron Rodgers.

  • Chris Cooley Hired as Analyst for Redskins Radio Broadcast

    The hiring of Washington Redskins tight end, Chris Cooley, was announced on Tuesday, July 16, by Red Zebra Broadcasting, the company owned by Redskins owner Daniel Snyder that operates ESPN 980 (WTEM, 980 AM), the team’s flagship station in Washington. Cooley, 31, was signed to a multiyear deal, according to a written announcement. The written announcement said Cooley will serve as an “in-game contributor” to the radio broadcasts, providing analysis in a “Cooley’s Corner” segment that will be heard every quarter. (more…)

  • Former Basketball Coach Digger Phelps Says He’s Cancer Free

    Digger Phelps, former basketball coach of Notre Dame, was told by his physician on Monday, July 1, that after six weeks of intensive treatment for bladder cancer, he is now cancer free. Phelps,  a prostate cancer survivor, was dianosed with bladder cancer in April 2013. Less than three months later, his doctor gave him the good news. (more…)

  • Jeff Gordon Named Keynote Speaker at Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and Fundraiser

    KNOXVILLE, TN. — NASCAR legend, Jeff Gordon, appeared as the keynote speaker Thursday night, July 11, at the annual induction dinner held at the Knoxville Convention Center. The event was a major fund-raiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley. Before speaking at the dinner, however, Gordon, 41 and visibly graying, was bombarded with questions from the media about his aging and driving performance.

  • Chipper Jones Speaks to Crowd After Atlanta Braves Retire His No.10 Jersey at Turner Field: VIDEO
