Chipper Jones Speaks to Crowd After Atlanta Braves Retire His No.10 Jersey at Turner Field: VIDEO

ATLANTA, GA. — Chipper Jones was humbled and overwhelmed by the cheers he received when a near capacity crowd at Turner Field turned out to cheer for him Friday night, June 28, as the Atlanta Braves retired his No. 10 jersey. The Atlanta Braves went on to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks that same night 3-0.

The following video captures the unveiling of Chipper’s name and number on the 3rd base side of the stadium next to other Braves Hall of Famers Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Bobby Cox and John Smoltz.

“It still doesn’t seem real,” Jones said. “I played baseball. I haven’t cured cancer or anything. It’s almost embarrassing to be getting all this attention and all the accolades. It’s so humbling.”
