Wayne Chrebet Booking Agent Details

Wayne Chrebet is a former NFL wide receiver who played his entire 11-year career from 1995-2005 with the New York Jets. Chrebet joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of Hofstra in 1995 and, against the odds, made the team after being listed as the 11th wide receiver on the team’s depth chart. He went on to put together a successful rookie campaign as he started all 16 games and caught 66 passes for 726 yards and four touchdowns.

In 1996, his numbers increased to 84 receptions for 909 yards despite starting only nine games. That season, Chrebet had an impressive game against Jacksonville, catching 12 passes for 162 yards. In 1998, he recorded 1,083 yards of receiving, a career-high, while catching 75 passes for eight touchdowns. Throughout his career, Chrebet enjoyed a reputation for making clutch catches. Out of his 580 career receptions, which ranks second all-time among Jets receivers,  379 of them, or 65%, were third down catches that he turned into first downs. In 1997, Chrebet won the Jets “Unsung Hero Award” while in 2001, the Jets Alumni Association named him the team’s player of the year. In 2000, Chrebet’s community involvement in New York was recognized as he was honored with that year’s Thurman Munson Award.

Chrebet was born on August 14 in Garfield, New Jersey. He attended Garfield High School before remaining in the area to play football at Hofstra. He was a four-year letterman at Hofstra and earned a spot in the NCAA Division I-AA record books when he caught five touchdown passes in one game, a mark that was originally set by Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. When he made the Jets roster, Chrebet became the first player from Hofstra in three decades to achieve the feat. He became a member of the Hofstra Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006 along with having his jersey #3 retired. After his playing days, Chrebet worked for Morgan Stanley and Barclays Capital. He also operated two restaurants located on Long Island.
