Trevor Linden spent 19 seasons from 1988-2008 playing right wing and center in the National Hockey League. He is best remembered for his time with the Vancouver Canucks (1988-1998, 2001-2008) but also played for the New York Islanders (1998-1999), Montreal Canadiens (1999-2001) and Washington Capitals (2000-2002). As one of the most popular Canucks players ever, Linden was a two-time All- Star in 1991 and 1992 and won numerous team awards, including the Cyrus H. McLean Trophy twice as the team’s leading scorer and Cyclone Taylor Award four times as team MVP.

As a rookie with the Canucks in 1988-1989, Linden tied for the team lead in points (59) as well as goals (30) in route to being selected to the All-Rookie Team. From 1990-1994, Linden produced four straight 30-goal seasons with his 75 points in 1991-1992 being a then career-high. The 1995-1996 season saw Linden post a new career-high in points and assists (47) while his 33 goals tied for most in his career. Linden led the Canucks to an unlikely appearance in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals as the team entered the playoffs as a No. 7 seed. Despite Linden notching a pair of goals in the decisive Game 7, the Canucks fell to the New York Rangers. Internationally, Linden represented Canada at the 1988 World Junior Championships (gold medal), 1991 World Championships (silver medal), 1996 World Cup (silver medal) and 1998 Winter Olympics (4th place).

In 1998, his peers elected him as the president of the NHL Players Association, a position he held for eight years. Linden is known for his involvement and work with the British Columbia Children’s Hospital and founded his own Trevor Linden Foundation in 1995. In 1997, he was awarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, recognizing his leadership on and off the ice as well as humanitarian efforts. He was also honored by receiving the Order of British Columbia in 2003 and Order of Canada in 2010. From 2014-2018, Linden served as president of hockey operations for the Canucks.
