Adam Schefter is one of the most recognizable and influential personalities at ESPN in his role as a NFL Insider. Schefter was born in Valley Stream, New York and attended college at the University of Michigan and received a graduate degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Schefter began his newspaper career while in Ann Arbor as the editor of the Michigan Daily. He would go on to work for the Chicago Tribune, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post. He was hired by the NFL Network in 2004 before moving to ESPN in 2009.
Schefter has received numerous accolades. In 2010, Sports Illustrated named Schefter among the “Top 40” people affiliated with the NFL, including executives, coaches, media and players. In 2014, New York Magazine named him the “Most Influential Tweeter in New York” and the “Media Person of the Year” by SI.com. In 2015, Schefter was honored as the Cynopsis Sports Media Personality of the Year.
