Troy Brown Becomes 19th Member Inducted into Patriots Hall of Fame

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Former NFL wide receiver, Troy Brown, was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on Saturday evening, September 15 at Gillette Stadium, making him the 19th member to receive the prestigious honor.

Watch Troy Brown try on his Patriots Hall of Fame jacket for the first time two days before officially being inducted into the Hall.

The 41-year-old NFL star said about putting on the team’s red hall of fame blazer,

“It was a great feeling. To put it on today in front of everybody, and they got to see it, and my mom got to see it, my kids, and other hall of famers that were here got to see it, and then to join those guys on stage, it’s an unbelievable feeling and in my eyes there’s no greater honor that you can receive.”

Brown’s former teamates quarterback Drew Bledsoe, cornerback Ty Law, linebacker Tedy Bruschi and running back Kevin Faulk all joined him on stage for a panel discussion, sharing stories from Brown’s long career in New England.

At his request, Brown was introduced to the crowd by the Jay-Z song “Encore,” which he and Law danced to at their post-Super Bowl parade rally in 2004. Brown began and ended his induction speech with the same lyric from the song: “I came, I saw, I conquered.”

Brown concluded his panel discussion by declaring, “We got bingo!” — a crowd-favorite line that he used at that 2004 Super Bowl victory parade in downtown Boston.

Troy Brown was drafted by the New England Patriots in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL Draft. Brown played his entire 15-year career with the Patriots where he earned three Super Bowl rings with the team. He played on five of the seven Patriots teams to reach the Super Bowl, and he retired as the franchise leader in career receptions.
