Gold Medal Gymnast Shawn Johnson to Speak At Truman State

KIRKSVILLE, MO. — Former U.S. Olympic gymnast and ‘Dancing With The Stars’ champion, Shawn Johnson, is scheduled to speak at Baldwin Auditorium at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri on Friday, October 25th, at 7 p.m. The event is free for all attending and tickets are available in the Student Activities Board office.

In 2012, Shawn published her book, “Winning Balance” and announced her retirement from competitive gymnastics following a knee injury. She plans to talk about her experience in the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, and how it positively influenced her to inspire others and her passion for life after her knee injury.

Shawn Johnson was the 2008 Olympic balance beam gold medalist and all-around and floor exercise silver medalist.
