CANTON, OH. — Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis headlined the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015 as he gave his Pro Football Hall of fame induction speech, turning the event into a Steelers rally. As Bettis grabbed one of the famous ‘terrible towels’ synonymous with the franchise at the beginning of his speech, he led a chant of “Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go” to a capacity crowd at Tom Benson Stadium. Former Atlanta Braves pitcher, John Smoltz, missed the 2000 MLB season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, which threatened to derail his career. He has been very outspoken about the dangers of the surgery and said earlier this month that he doesn’t know if there will ever be another pitcher to enter the Hall of Fame after undergoing the procedure. Smoltz is the first pitcher in the Hall of Fame to have returned from Tommy John surgery.
