  • FoxSports Chooses St Jude as Charity for NFL 2010 Season

    MEMPHIS, TN.- FoxSports has chosen St Jude, known for its cancer research, as the charity for the NFL 2010 Season and will promote the children’s hospital throughout the entire NFL season. FoxSports NFL broadcasters Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman and Jimmy Johnson felt privileged to recently visit St Jude Hospital to meet some of the patients.

    During the two day trip to St Jude, the FoxSports crew recorded commercials that will run before and after football games this season on FOX. The children were excited and thrilled, but the ex-football players said it was the children that made the biggest impression.

  • Brett Favre Back with Vikings Says ‘It’s Not About The Money’

    Legendary quarterback, Brett Favre, will appear at a 2:30 p.m. EDT press conference in which he is expected to announce that he will return to the NFL for a 20th season. Did Brett Favre really plan to retire this time as he has done so many times in the past or was he just holding our for a better deal?

    According to NFL sources, the Minnesota Vikings plan to increase Favre’s base salary for this season to $16.5 million instead of the originally planned $13 million he was due under the two-year contract he signed last August. (more…)

  • Magic Johnson Speaks at Basketball Hall of Fame Honoring 1992 Olympic Dream Team

    SPRINGFIELD, MA – Magic Johnson showed what a great speaker and class act he is as he graciously accepted the honor of being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this past weekend along with his fellow 1992 Olympic Dream Team.

    Johnson honored Chuck Daly (July 20, 1930 – May 9, 2009), who coached the Dream Team to the men’s’ basketball gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics. (more…)

  • Rusty Wallace Would Love to Be Inducted into NASCAR Hall of Fame

    Rusty Wallace, retired NASCAR driver and current analyst for ESPN, said he would love to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame after a recent visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. His visit was part of a tour of upstate New York that takes him to Watkins Glen International for a Nationwide Series race Saturday, Aug. 14, and a Sprint Cup race Sunday.

  • Brett Favre to Retire From NFL … Again?

    UPDATE: Favre now says he has not decided whether he is retiring. Should we be surprised?

    Senior NFL Writer Jay Glazer reports that Favre has told The Minnesota Vikings team that he will not return to football. This will make it three times now that Favre has retired. Because Favre has changed his mind so many times, it is hard to say that his retirement is official.

    Brett Favre expected to retire from the NFL making this his third time to retire.

    According to a series of tweets from Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, “Brett Favre began telling Vikings officials last night he will NOT return for a 20th season.” Another said that “Favre is expected to issue a press release later today.” The quarterback’s ankle injury may be one reason that Favre is reluctant to play this year.   • Lou Piniella to Retire as Chicago Cubs Manager

    Chicago Cubs manager, Lou Piniella (“Sweet Lou”), has decided to retire at the end of the season stating that he wants to spend more time with his family. His announcement came Tuesday and will give the team plenty of time to replace him.

    Piniella, 66, achieved three championship rings after reaching The World Series five times.
