Dante Bichette is a retired outfielder who played in the major leagues for the California Angels (1988-1990), Milwaukee Brewers (1991-1992), Colorado Rockies (1993-1999), Cincinnati Reds (2000) and Boston Red Sox (2000-2001). He enjoyed most of his success with the Rockies and is among the franchises most popular players ever. Bichette was a member of the inaugural Rockies’ team in 1993 and a four-time All-Star. He hit the first home run in team history on April 7, 1993. In 1995, Bichette led the National League in homers, RBI, hits, total bases and slugging percentage in route to winning the Silver Slugger Award and finishing runner-up in the National League MVP voting to Barry Larkin of the Reds. Bichette hit over .300 each season from 1993-1998 and recorded at least 100 RBI each season from 1995-1999.

Bichette attended Palm Beach Community College in Florida as was drafted by the Angels in the 17th round of the 1984 MLB draft. He made his major league debut with the Angels in 1988 and was traded to the Brewers in 1991 before landing with the Rockies. Bichette was part of a group of Rockies sluggers known as the “Blake Street Bombers”, which also included Vinny Castilla, Larry Walker and Andres Galarraga.
