Cale Yarborough is a retired stock car driver who competed in NASCAR’s Cup Series from 1957-1988. Yarborough grew up in South Carolina and made his NASCAR debut at the Southern 500 in 1957. He recorded his first win in 1965 at Valdosta (GA) Speedway. A stretch of highway through Timmonsville, South Carolina is named in his honor and is called Cale Yarborough Highway.
