RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Olympic Gold medalist and star soccer player Alex Morgan will be appearing at a book signing on Tuesday, May 7, at the Bookends in Ridgewood, NJ. The signing is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. She will be signing copies of \u201cSaving the Team,\u201d in which a twelve-year old girl moves from Connecticut to California, leaving her old friends and soccer team behind. In California, she is faced with the challenges of playing on a new soccer team that has a coach who doesn\u2019t care whether the team wins or loses. Along the way, she makes new friends, thus allowing her to save the team from itself.<\/p>\n
As a member of the U.S. Olympic women\u2019s soccer team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Morgan helped lead the Americans to a gold medal. In the final, a 2\u20131 win against Japan, Morgan assisted on a Carli Lloyd header. For her excellence on the field, U.S. Soccer announced Morgan as the 2012 Female Athlete of the Year. Prior to the Olympics in 2011, she was the first overall pick for the National Women\u2019s Soccer League. She currently plays for the Portland Thorns FC.<\/p>\n
