NYC — Jets legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Joe Namath, hosted the 10th Annual Joe Namath March of Dimes Celebrity Golf Classic on September 9 & 10 with nearly 100 other sports legends and celebrites attending. Celebrities included Meadowlark Lemon, the ‘Clown Prince of Basketball’,  Richard Roundtree, the first black action hero who played “Shaft” and Basketball Hall of Famer Bernard King, to name a few.

Chauncey Billups Says 'It's Just Time to Retire' After 17 Seasons in the NBA

Olympic Track Star Lolo Jones to Compete on DWTS

LOS ANGELES, CA. — Olympic track star, Lolo Jones, will compete on Season 19 Dancing With The Stars scheduled to air on ABC September 15, 2014. Jones is a three time Olympian in track and bob sledding. She is also a native of Des Moines Iowa as is past DWTS Mirror Ball winner, Shawn Johnson, who won a few years ago. Jones will be paired with pro partner Keo Motsepe, the first African American pro dancer to appear on the show.

Roberto Alomar Signs Autographs Meet Fans at Little League World Series Block Party

WILLIAMSPORT, PA. — Roberto Alomar, a switch hitter who played for seven major league teams between 1988 and 2004 and had a career .300 batting average, was on hand to meet and greet fans and to sign autographs for free between 6 and 7 p.m. as the featured guest at the Williamsport Welcomes the World block party. Dave Winfield Named Grand Marshal & Guest Speaker at the 2014 Little League World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, PA. — Former MLB Hall of Famer, Dave Winfield, was the grand marshal of the 10th annual Grand Slam Parade that kicked off the Little League World Series activities in the Williamsport area on August 10, 2014. Winfield was also the guest speaker on August 14 at 8 a.m. at the world series kickoff breakfast sponsored by the Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce at the Genetti Hotel. NFL Greats Andre Reed, Michael Strahan, Ray Guy Among Seven Players Inducted into NFL Hall of Fame

CANTON, OH. — Seven NFL legends including former NY Giants Michael Strahan, Buffalo Bills Andre Reed, defensive end Claude Humphrey, two first-time ballot selections, Tampa Bay linebacker Derrick Brooks and Seattle offensive tackle Walter Jones were inducted on Saturday, Aug 2 into the NFL Hall of Fame. Arizona/St. Louis defensive back Aeneas Williams and Oakland’s Ray Guy, the first full-time punter, were also inducted.

Dwyane Wade Signs New Contract with Miami Heat

MIAMI, Fla. — Looks like Dwyane Wade is staying with the Miami Heat. According to Yahoo Sports, to cite sources, Wade signed a new contract with the Heat on Tuesday, July 15. It’s a two-year deal, the second of those seasons a player option, said a person familiar with the situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither side announced terms. Financial terms were not announced, though it’s expected Wade’s salary for next season will not reach the $20.2 million he would have made under his previous contract.

Dallas Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle Speaks to Young Athletes at St. Lawrence University Basketball Camp
