  • Jerome Bettis Speaks Out About Steelers Ben Roethlisberger

    Jerome Bettis, nicknamed “The Bus,” is a former American football halfback for the NFL’s Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers.

    When asked about Ben Roethlisberger, Bettis told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Wednesday that Roethlisberger “has to prove his heart is in the right place” in order to regain acceptance with the NFL and fans. (more…)

  • AC Green Is A Sought After Christian Speaker

    AC Green was the Lakers’ first-round selection in the 1985 college draft. He became the first rookie since LeRoy Ellis in 1962-63 to appear in every game. Green was named to the NBA All-Defensive Team in 1988-89 and was a starter in the 1990 All-Star Game. AC Green speaks to the youth of today to help them develop leadership skills and moral values.

    Green went on to win three titles with the Lakers – two with the Magic Johnson-led teams (1987 and 1988) and one with the Kobe Bryant-Shaquille O’Neal 2000 team.

  • Don Coryell, Longtime Coach of San Diego Chargers, Dies at 85

    SAN DIEGO, CA – FoxSports reports that Don Coryell, one of the founding fathers of the modern passing game, whose Air Coryell offense produced some of the most dynamic passing attacks in NFL history, has died. He was 85.

    The San Diego Chargers confirmed Coryell died Thursday at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in suburban La Mesa. The team did not release the cause of death, but Coryell had been in poor health for some time. (more…)

  • USA Defeats Algeria In Amazing 1-0 Victory (VIDEO)

    Landon Donovan and the U.S. soccer team scored the game winner in the 91st minute of their match with Algeria. Donovan helped US soccer set a number of records in its 1-0 win today, which made it the top-scoring team in the World Cup Group C.

    On one of the biggest nights in American soccer history the USA at last played as if it deserved the victory. (more…)

  • Butch Lumpkin Is An Inspiration to All

    I just returned last week from an event in the Midwest that I provide athletes for each year. This year’s lineup included football Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett and baseball Hall of Famer Andre Dawson. And while both did a great job and received rave reviews, the person who stole the show was someone named Butch Lumpkin.

    Lumpkin wasn’t a professional athlete and didn’t have the name recognition of Dorsett and Dawson, but he’s the one that left the biggest impression. You see, Lumpkin was born with virtually no arms, yet he’s a single-digit handicap golfer, plays tennis better than most and skis black diamonds. The word “can’t” isn’t in his vocabulary. (more…)

  • New Zealand v. Italy Ends in Suprise 1-1 Draw

    NELSPRUIT, South Africa – New Zealand could not quite pull off a win over Italy in their second Group F game on Sunday but a 1-1 draw still represented an extraordinary achievement. World champion Italy was aided by a controversial penalty against New Zealand in earning a 1-1 draw at the FIFA World Cup in Nelspruit on Sunday.”

    “I think that stopped the nation,” New Zealand coach Ricki Herbert said. “It’s the most incredible result we’ve had across the board. As a football coach, it’s way above anything we’ve achieved in the history of the game. (more…)

  • Lakers Defeat Celtics in Game 7 Winning 16th NBA Title

    LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Boston Celtics 83-79 after dramatically rallying from a fourth-quarter deficit in Game 7 of the NBA finals.

    Kobe Bryant was the MVP, scoring 23 points despite 6-of-24 shooting, giving the Lakers their 16th NBA championship Thursday night, after dramatically rallying from a fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Boston Celtics 83-79 in Game 7 of the NBA finals. (more…)

  • USA v. Slovenia World Cup: Was USA Robbed of Win? (VIDEO)

    The United States overcame a two-goal deficit to force a draw against Slovenia on Friday, but the Americans may have deserved to win outright. Shortly after tying the game in the 81st minute, the U.S. had a free kick near the Slovenian goal.

    Landon Donovan, who scored the first U.S. goal of the game, lobbed the ball towards the goal and teammate Maurice Edu knocked it in. A referee called the goal off, apparently because he thought the American committed a foul. (more…)
