Mitch Richmond is a former NBA shooting guard who enjoyed a professional career from 1988-2002 with the Golden State Warriors (1988-1991), Sacramento Kings (1991-1998), Washington Wizards (1998-2001) and Los Angeles Lakers (2001-2002). A 2014 inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Richmond recorded a per game average of 21 points, 3.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds during his 14-year NBA career. His jersey #2 was retired by the Kings in 2003.

In 1988-1989, his first year in the league, Richmond started 79 games for the Warriors, averaging 22 points per game. His stellar freshman season earned him 1989 NBA Rookie of the Year honors. The 1996-1997 season with Sacramento saw Richmond post a career-high 25.9 points per game average. He was named six-times an All-Star (1993-1098), all with the Kings, and three times (1994, 1995 and 1997) Richmond was named a second-team All-NBA pick. Richmond won an NBA title in his last NBA season with the Lakers in 2001-2002.

Richmond played college basketball at Kansas State, where he was a second-team All-American in 1988. His jersey #23 was retired by the Wildcats. Internationally, Richmond represented the United States at the 1988 and 1996 Summer Olympics, winning a respective bronze and gold medal.
