John Randle is a retired defensive tackle who played in the National Football League for the Minnesota Vikings (1990-2000) and Seattle Seahawks (2001-2003). Randle led the NFL in sacks in 1997 and was a six-time first-team All-Pro selection and seven-time Pro Bowler. He holds the all-time Vikings defensive record for the most number of seasons leading the franchise in sacks with nine.

At the time of Randle’s retirement in 2004, he was tied with Hall of Famer Richard Dent at 5th all-time in league history for number of sacks. He also ranks 2nd all-time behind Vikings Hall of Famer Alan Page for total number of sacks by a defensive tackle with 137.5. Randle was named a member of the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team in route to becoming a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 alongside Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and others. He’s also a member of the Vikings Ring of Honor.

Randle was born on December 12, 1967 in Mumford, Texas and played college football at Trinity Valley Community College and Texas A&M – Kingsville. In 2008, Randle was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and, in 2010, he became a member of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
