Adam Vinatieri is a placekicker in the NFL who has played for the Indianapolis Colts since 2006. Prior to Indianapolis, he played for the New England Patriots from 1996-2005 and the NFL Europe’s Amsterdam Admirals in 1996. Vinatieri has three times been named to the Pro Bowl and has won four Super Bowls – three with the Patriots (Super Bowls XXXVI, XXXVII and XXXIX) and one with the Colts (Super Bowl XLI). In Super Bowl XXXVI, Vinatieri kicked the game-winning field goal of 48 yards in the final play to give the Patriots the win over the St. Louis Rams, 20-17. In Super Bowl XXXVIII, he made a field goal of 41 yards with :04 left to lift the Patriots over the Carolina Panthers, 32-29.

One of the most consistent and accurate placekickers in league history, Vinatieri holds several NFL records, including consecutive field goals made at 44, most field goals in a career and most points scored in a career (at any position). He was named a member of both the Patriots 50th Anniversary Team and to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. Vinatieri grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota and attended Central High School, where as a senior he was All-State. He played collegiately at South Dakota State and finished his time in Brookings as the school’s all-time leading scorer.
